Julie De Joncaire Narten, Istruttore di III Livello

I was born in the UK to a family with strong equestrian ties as my Great Grandfather had served in WWI in the cavalry. It was probably my earliest memories of being around his wonderful draught horses that made me want to start riding at the age of four years old. May 1985 After having spent a youth of always riding “borrowed” ponies, I finally managed to buy the English thorough-bred of my dreams “Smart Thought”, whom I trained to jump and together we won many competitions in Essex, including Hunter Trials, Show Jumping, Working Hunter classes, Cross Country and One-Day-Events. 1n 1999, my husband Carlo and I moved from the UK to Umbria; to an ideal place for horses and trail riding. We built stables and a manège on the estate and accumulated 5 lovely horses who were ideal for hacking out on the bridal ways surrounding the estate. In 2005 I participated in an ENGEA course and became an Assistant Equestrian Guide -Level 3 rider. (In 2015 I also qualified as an ENGEA Gymkana pony instructor). This enabled us to also offer riding to the guests of our agriturismo. In 2009 I discovered “Interdressage” a site where riders world-wide participate in dressage tests via internet. This sparked my interest in dressage and I started to compete monthly on our lovely mare, Quiz. In 2011, after an operation for a hip replacement, since I virtually had to learn how to ride all over again, I decided to restart under the instruction of Antonello Radicchi. I had always felt that I could co-operate better with my horse and find a much lighter and gentler way of riding. Antonello, the FEEL method and my wonderful PRE gelding, Ulisse di Reschio, are helping me achieve this. 2015 Certificate ENGEA Gymkana Pony Instructor 1st. level 2015 Diploma FEEL instructor 1st. level 2017 Diploma FEEL Instructor 2nd.
